The Innocence Project

We have donated to the Innocence Project to aid them in their struggle to free the unjustly imprisoned. Colom Foundation funding is also being used to found a chapter at the University of Mississippi School of Law.

First Book
The Colom Foundation is working with national non-profit First Book to put books into the hands of needy children.

Boys and Girls Club Investment Clubs
We are working through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Mississippi to teach children the basics of money management.

Greatest Dad Contest
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Cumulus Broadcasting and The Colom Foundation held this contest to recognize the Greatest Dads in the Golden Triangle.

Political Symposium at the University of Mississippi
The Colom Foundation and the University of Mississippi held a symposium on race relations in the South.

Holly Springs Civil Rights Reunion
In Sept. 2003, we helped to organize a reunion of civil rights workers who came to Mississippi in the 1960s.

African-American Archive Project
In summer 2003, the Foundation launched a project to add African-American cultural material to the archives in the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library.

MLK Day Celebration
We worked with civil leaders in Columbus, Miss., to increase the spirit of inclusiveness of the 2005 MLK Day celebration.

Colom Fellowship
The foundation sponsors young African politicians who visit the U.S. to gain firsthand knowledge of how our political process works.

Simon of Cyrene Statue at Oakwood College
The Foundation helped Oakwood College erect its first statue in over 105 years.
